Isoflux Forms Advisory Board
Isoflux is pleased to announce the formation of a new advisory board made up of leaders in medicine, business and finance. The board will provide the company with advice, industry insight, and counsel as it develops and commercializes its surface engineering technologies for medical products.
The advisory board members are:
L. Nelson Hopkins, M.D. – Dr. Hopkins is an internationally recognized neurosurgeon. He serves as Chair of the University of Buffalo Department of Neurosurgery and Director of the Toshiba Stroke Research Center. He has pioneered endovascular techniques to treat and prevent strokes and has published extensively in peer reviewed journals. Dr. Hopkins is the former chair of the Joint Session on Cerebrovascular Surgery for the American Association of Neurosurgeons and the Congress of Neurosurgery and lectures widely on endovascular techniques in neurosurgery. He received his B.A. from Rutgers University and his M.D. from Albany Medical College.
Elad Levy, M.D. – Dr. Levy is Associate Professor of Neurosurgery and Associate Professor of Radiology at the University of Buffalo SUNY School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences. He is a leading researcher in the field of endovascular treatments, has published widely on the subject and was the principal investigator on a recent study of stenting to treat strokes. Dr. Levy received his M.D. from The George Washington University School of Medicine and did his neurosurgical training at the University of Pittsburgh. He completed a fellowship in endovascular surgery at the State University of New York, where he received the Mullen Endovascular Fellowship Award for his work.
Jose J. Coronas – Mr. Coronas is a general partner of Trillium Group and former President of Johnson and Johnson Clinical Diagnostics Division. As Vice President and General Manager of Kodak's Clinical Diagnostics he led the sale of the division to J&J. He was also President and CEO of Genencor International, a joint venture between Kodak and Cultor Ltd. that he helped create. Mr. Coronas holds a B.S. in industrial engineering from the University of Miami and an M.B.A. with honors from the University of Rochester’s Simon School.
James C. Stoffel, Ph.D. – Dr. Stoffel is formerly Senior Vice President, Chief Technical Officer, and Director of Research and Development for Eastman Kodak Company. In that role he was also responsible for Kodak’s venture capital and new business incubation activities. Prior to joining Kodak he served as Vice President, Corporate Research and Technology for Xerox Corporation. He has extensive experience leading technology companies and serves on a number of boards. Dr. Stoffel received his B.S. in electrical engineering magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Syracuse University.
Scott Friedman, Esq. – Mr. Friedman is a partner with Lippes Mathias Wexler and Friedman, specializing in business matters with an emphasis on finance. He is also actively involved as a principal in venture capital and private equity transactions. Mr Friedman received his B.A. from Trinity College, his J.D. from Washington University School of Law and his LL.M. from University of Pennsylvania School of Law. He has published numerous articles and books on business methods and serves with a number of professional and civic organizations.
